Company overview
SANYOSEIKO manufactures parts for electric vehicles, aircraft engines, and electron microscopes using advanced metal cutting technology. Additionally, we develop and provide high-temperature observation equipment capable of evaluating “solder,” which is indispensable for semiconductor manufacturing, supporting the creation of products familiar in our daily lives in unseen ways. In recent years, driven by a desire to “help those in need,” we have also expanded into the medical device business. We develop and provide an arteriosclerosis measuring device and a pain measuring device, protecting people's health not only at the treatment stage but also from the prevention stage.
The company’s greatest strength is its ability to meet the detailed demands of customers through entrusted work. Leveraging high technical expertise backed by the development of our own products, we consistently support our customers from planning to design, prototyping, mass production, and release. Particularly in the medical device business, we have supported the commercialization of many customers' products under a quality management system that complies with international standards.
The company is now focusing on hiring foreign personnel with an eye toward expanding overseas. The head of the Human Resources Development Office, Toshiaki Koizumi, said:, “We were of course focusing on creating an organization that could embrace foreign values, and we had high expectations for the vitality of foreign personnel who are willing to step forward themselves.”
One of the personnel hired through that process is He Yong, originally from China, who works on mechanical design in the medical device business. “While studying mechanical engineering at university, I became interested in the automotive industry and joined a Japanese car manufacturer, but it was disappointing that I could only be involved in some aspects of the design. In SANYOSEIKO's medical device business, I find it interesting to be able to design an entire product,” said He.

Work-life balance initiatives
What SANYOSEIKO aims to be is “a company that people want their children to work for.” To achieve that, we believe it's necessary for employees to be satisfied themselves, so we have been devising ways for them to enjoy themselves outside of work as well. The company provides club activity fees for hiking, golf, vegetable gardening, and other activities. In addition, various events such as company trips, bowling tournaments, and futsal tournaments are held about once a month. By communicating across departmental boundaries, “interactions in work have also become smoother,” says Koizumi. He was enthusiastically practicing for his first e-sports tournament, and it seems he successfully led their team to victory. “It was fun to get absorbed in it together with everyone,” he recalled with a smile.
On the other hand, to increase employee satisfaction, it is important to have a flexible vacation system and to be able to use it. The company has implemented a "time-off system" that allows employees to take paid leave in hourly increments. Additionally, the company permits employees to take long-term vacations by combining business trips with seasonal and paid leaves, thus increasing the options for taking time off. Yong also uses the time-off system for dental visits and takes advantage of long vacations to return home to China, commenting, “It's convenient to be able to adjust my time off according to my lifestyle.”
Additionally, with the unique "Mission Statement System," another employee acts as a mentor to support the realization of an employee's dreams, and opportunities are provided for them to present their progress. “At present, only some employees are taking advantage of it, but we want to make it a company-wide initiative in the future,” said Koizumi.

Human resource development initiatives
SANYOSEIKO believes that “a company that people want their children to work for” is one where they can wholeheartedly challenge themselves to pursue what they want to do. We are particularly focused on supporting the acquisition of foundational skills. The company prepares a skill map for each job category, making it easy for beginners to see at a glance what skills they should acquire and on what schedule. By establishing an in-house certification system where passing the exams enhances work duty levels, we are also boosting employee motivation. Additionally, there is support for obtaining external qualifications. Staff member He reflects: “It was great to be able to learn skills that can be directly applied to work at the company's expense.”
There is also a system in place to gradually enhance management skills, not just technical skills. Since there are always about 40 projects underway, you can gain management experience in these projects before seamlessly taking on organizational management. In addition to mechanical design in the medical equipment business, He is also responsible for managing overseas expansion projects. “Not only do you need knowledge of mechanical design, but also of electrical design and software design, as it involves the technology of the entire product, which is challenging. However, as your understanding deepens, you can experience a great sense of accomplishment,” said He.
In addition, foreign language courses are also offered where employees of foreign nationality teach practical conversation skills such as handling phone inquiries. We are encouraging our employees to take on foreign languages.
However, challenges can bring about worries along the way. What was devised there is the “Coach A Activity,” where one junior employee is assigned a mid-level employee and a veteran employee as mentors. “By increasing the number of people with whom they can consult, we are ensuring that young employees do not have to bear the burden of work or personal concerns alone,” said Koizumi.

Message from our top executive
Human Resources Development Office, director Toshiaki Koizumi
We believe that to fully expand overseas in the future, it is necessary to strengthen the company together with personnel who have diverse backgrounds. Meanwhile, even as the workforce becomes more diverse, the desire to "make each and every employee happy" remains unchanged. Our ultimate goal is to remain a company that supports its employees' dreams.

Message from foreign talent
Design Department (Mechanical Design), Global Planning Office (Concurrent Position)/He Yong(China)
At SANYOSEIKO, I was able to take on a variety of challenges beyond what I initially imagined, greatly broadening my career possibilities. Also, I like living in Japan because the healthcare and education systems are well-developed. However, everyone is likely to value different things. If you are interested in working in Japan, I recommend actually coming and checking if it aligns with your values.
