Company overview
On the strengths of DM KOKOKUSHA, President Fujimoto says: "It's not only the company's 'planning' ability but also its 'execution' ability, along with its ability to provide solutions to all kinds of promotion-related issues. He also said: "The company provides campaign product shipping services as well as campaign planning and consulting. Furthermore, we have expanded our business domain to include operations such as secretariat and call center agency services, along with management system development. With the recent diversification of advertising media, the company's ability to 'centrally manage all sales promotion processes' has increased its presence. We are also actively engaged in cross-border promotions, such as in the business development of 'Rice Pasta' from Thailand in Japan, which has produced significant results." Ms. Giang, who is from Vietnam and who works at the company, says: "We have a wide range of work areas, and we have the know-how and services to solve various issues for our customers. When you work on an area for the first time, your superiors and supervisors will gently guide you through the process so that you can feel at ease. My skills are improving every day, and most of all, I'm happy to make customers happy."
Work-life balance initiatives
Based on the company motto of "Make everyone happy," the company focuses on making it easy for everyone involved in business to work. President Fujimoto says: "We also have a system for childcare and nursing care leave, and 100% of our female employees that have given birth have taken advantage of this system. If employees with children or older employees wish to work shorter hours or on staggered shifts, we can discuss and will decide on their best work-life balance. Last year, there was a male employee that took childcare leave. We are currently teleworking about three days a week. We would like to continue to work in accordance with the times." Ms. Giang, who joined the company through an internship, says: "I had an image of Japanese companies working late into the night, but my boss encouraged me to go home on time, and once my work is done, I can leave without worrying about others. Also, in Vietnam, people feel that 'company members = colleagues,' but at DM KOKOKUSHA, it's easy to talk to anyone, whether you're a boss or a newcomer, and we can talk openly about our private lives, which is very enjoyable."
Human resource development initiatives
The company places great importance on developing human resources with an "altruistic mindset" that enables staff to act from the standpoint of others. Department Manager Haga says: "In order to propose our wide range of services to our customers, it is essential to see things from the other person's perspective and standpoint. For this reason, in human resources development, we also actively utilize external training in addition to learning the basics through training for new employees. What makes the company unique is that the person in charge of training understands the growth issues of each employee and suggests several external training programs to the employee that are deemed necessary. We can join any of the suggested programs that we want." Ms. Giang says: "I'm more motivated because I can make my own choices, and the external training I recently participated in was very informative, not only for improving my skills but also for hearing about various industries." The company has also set up several project teams that include members from three different locations, including the head office and factories. A colleague of Ms. Giang, Ms. Yokoyama, says: "Recently, there has been a lot of interest in the SDGs, and my project team is enjoying learning about the latest information and challenging ourselves to see how we can incorporate the SDGs into our company."
